Scope of work

Six circuits worth calling a master for.

We don’t chase $90 outlet swaps. These are the jobs where doing it properly is the difference between an upgrade and a hazard.

200A Panel & Service Upgrades

Fuse boxes, Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels replaced with a modern service. This is the job that unlocks every other upgrade in the house — and the one insurers keep asking about.

$2,800 – $6,400

EV Charger Installation

Level 2 chargers on a dedicated 40–60A circuit, load-calculated so you don't trip the main. Permitted, inspected, and eligible for utility rebates.

$900 – $2,600

Whole-Home Standby Generators

Automatic transfer switch, natural gas or propane, tested monthly on its own schedule. The power comes back in about fourteen seconds and you never touch a thing.

$8,500 – $19,000

Whole-Home Rewiring

Knob-and-tube and aluminum branch wiring replaced with copper, grounded and to code. We fish walls rather than open them wherever the framing allows.

$9,000 – $28,000

Recessed Lighting & Smart Home

Layered LED lighting design, dimmers that actually work with your fixtures, and switching that integrates with the platform you already use.

$180 – $340 per can

Commercial Fit-Out & Service

Tenant improvements, three-phase distribution, emergency lighting and code corrections. We work nights so you open on time.

Who shows up

Two masters, eleven electricians, zero shortcuts.

I spent nine years as an inspector before I started Voltbridge, which means I have seen exactly how bad work hides. Everything we install is built to pass the inspection I would have written up.

Every job is performed or directly supervised by a licensed master electrician, and that licence number goes on your permit. We thermal-image every panel we touch, label every breaker accurately, and hand you the signed inspection card when we leave.

Standards

Six things we won’t compromise on.

01

Master electrician on every job

Not a helper with a van. A licensed master electrician either performs or directly supervises every hour of work we bill, and their license number goes on your permit.

02

We pull the permit. Always.

Panel work, rewires, generators and EV circuits legally require a permit and an inspection. Unpermitted electrical is a fire risk, an insurance denial, and a failed home sale waiting to happen.

03

Thermal imaging on every panel

We photograph your panel under load with a thermal camera before and after. Hot lugs and loose neutrals show up in infrared long before they show up as smoke — and you keep the images.

04

Flat quotes, itemised to the circuit

You get a written scope listing every circuit, device and fixture, with the price locked before work starts. Change orders only happen when you ask for one, in writing.

05

Clean panel labelling, guaranteed

Every breaker gets typed, accurate labels — verified circuit by circuit, not copied from the old sticker. It sounds small until the day you need to kill one circuit fast.

06

Ten-year workmanship warranty

Parts carry their manufacturer coverage; our labour is warrantied for ten years. If a device we installed fails, we replace it and we don't bill the trip.

Free estimate

Find out if your panel can take it.

Before you buy the EV charger, the hot tub or the induction range, find out whether your service can actually carry it. This runs a standard residential load calculation — the same method we use on a real site visit.

  • 01 Instant service-size recommendation
  • 02 Free on-site verification and written quote
  • 03 Thermal images of your existing panel, yours to keep
  • 04 Utility rebate paperwork filed by our office

Our home inspector flagged a Federal Pacific panel and the insurer gave us thirty days. Voltbridge had a permitted 200A service in and inspected within a week, and sent the thermal images to our agent directly.

Two other companies quoted the EV charger without ever looking at my panel. Voltbridge did the load calc, found I was 18 amps short, and sorted it properly instead of hoping. That is the entire difference.

Whole-house rewire on a 1926 bungalow with knob-and-tube. They fished almost every wall — we expected to re-plaster the entire second floor and ended up patching six small holes.

Generator kicked on fourteen seconds into a four-day outage and ran the whole house including the sump. Half the street was at a hotel. Best money we have ever spent on this place.

We fit out restaurant spaces on tight timelines. Voltbridge works overnight, hits inspection first pass, and their invoices match their bids to the dollar. They are on every job now.

They labelled every breaker properly for the first time in the forty years this house has stood. I framed the panel schedule. My wife thinks I need a hobby.

Common questions

Answers, not upsells.

Four common signals: your panel is a fuse box or a Federal Pacific / Zinsco brand, you are at 100 amps or less, you have run out of breaker spaces, or breakers trip when normal loads run together. Adding an EV charger, a heat pump, a hot tub or an induction range usually forces the question too. The load calculator on this page will tell you in about twenty seconds.

Typically $2,800 to $6,400 installed. The spread depends on whether the meter base and service entrance need replacing, whether the utility drop is overhead or underground, how far the panel sits from the meter, and whether the grounding electrode system needs to be brought to current code. Permit and inspection are included in our number.

Often, yes — but it must be load-calculated first, not guessed. A Level 2 charger wants a dedicated 40 to 60 amp circuit, and many homes have the breaker space but not the service capacity. If you are short, a load management device is sometimes cheaper than a full upgrade, and we will tell you when that is the better buy.

Yes, for anything beyond a like-for-like device swap. An unpermitted panel, rewire or generator can void your homeowner's insurance at exactly the moment you need it, and it will surface during a home sale. We pull the permit, meet the inspector, and hand you the signed card.

Aluminium branch circuit wiring from the 1960s and 70s is a recognised fire hazard at the connections, where it expands, loosens and arcs. It does not always mean a full rewire — approved COPALUM or AlumiConn repairs at every device are often the right fix and cost far less. We will show you which situation you are in.

Non-urgent work is usually scheduled within two to four business days. No-power, burning smell, sparking or a hot panel is treated as an emergency and dispatched same-day, 24/7. If you smell burning plastic right now, shut off the main and call us before reading any further.
