AI SEO, GEO and AEO agency in Austin and Round Rock
We get your business named when people ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode, Perplexity and Copilot who to call. AI SEO, generative engine optimization (GEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO) run here as their own program, with their own audit, weekly AI answer tracking and monthly reports, on top of the SEO they depend on. Published prices from $1,495 a month, month to month.
Your customers still search. They just read an answer before they get to the list of links, and that answer names two or three businesses. This page is about being one of them, and about how you would know whether it is working.
No contract. No exit fee. Your domain and Google accounts stay in your name.
01 Definition
What AI SEO, GEO and AEO mean
AI SEO, GEO and AEO aim at the same result: being the source an AI answer is built from, and the business it tells people to call. GEO (generative engine optimization) works on engines that write answers. AEO (answer engine optimization) works on direct answers to questions. AI SEO is the umbrella over both.
Google says in AI Features and Your Website that AI Overviews and AI Mode retrieve through its core Search systems. So crawlable pages, quality and useful content still decide whether you are eligible at all. That is the SEO foundation, and it does not go away.
What sits on top of it is different work: finding the questions people ask AI, writing passages an engine can quote, getting other sites to confirm who you are, and tracking whether the answers name you. That is why we run GEO and AEO as their own program, with their own audit, tracking and reports, inside one plan rather than three retainers. Here is what each term means.
- AI SEO
- The umbrella. Everything that makes a business findable, understandable and repeatable by AI-assisted search, including the ordinary technical and content fundamentals underneath.
- AI search optimization
- The retrieval end of it: what an assistant actually surfaces and repeats when somebody asks.
- Generative engine optimization (GEO)
- Optimization for engines that write an answer instead of listing links: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode. The goal is to be quoted and recommended.
- Answer engine optimization (AEO)
- Optimization for direct answers to a question: AI replies, voice assistants and featured snippets. It overlaps with GEO, so we run both in the same program.
- LLM SEO
- The same field named after the technology instead of the behaviour. Large language model SEO, in full.
- AI visibility
- Not a service, a measurement: whether and how often AI systems mention, cite or recommend you. It is what an audit reports on.
02 The mechanism
How a question becomes an answer that names somebody
An AI answer is written on the spot, not looked up. The system turns your customer's question into several searches, pulls paragraphs from lots of pages, then writes one answer that quotes a few sources and recommends a business. Being quoted and being recommended are not the same thing.
Three consequences fall out of that process, and they are what the work on this page is built around.
One question becomes many searches
Google documents a query fan-out technique: AI Overviews and AI Mode issue multiple related searches across subtopics and data sources, then build a single answer from the results. Your customer types one thing, but the system looks for several.
That changes the unit of work from a keyword to a topic. A page that answers one exact phrase and nothing around it is a poor candidate, because most of the fan-out lands somewhere it cannot help with. A page that covers the question and the four questions that follow it is a strong one.
A model lifts passages, not pages
Retrieval works at the level of a section, not a document. A model may take two sentences from the middle of your page and never consider the rest of it.
So each section has to answer its own heading well enough to survive being read out of context. That is the practical reason every section on this page opens with a plain answer before the detail, and why lists and tables appear wherever the content is genuinely a list or a comparison.
A citation is not a recommendation
An assistant can quote your page as its source and then tell the customer to call a competitor. It happens constantly, and it is why citation screenshots are a poor way to report progress.
Being quoted is a content problem. Being recommended is a trust problem, and it is decided mostly by things that are not on your website: your Google Business Profile, your reviews, and whether anybody else on the internet corroborates that you exist and are competent.
03 The difference
GEO and AEO compared with traditional SEO
Traditional SEO competes for a position in a list. GEO and AEO compete to be the material the answer is made of, and the business it recommends. They share SEO’s foundations, but the research, the content, the off-site work and the tracking are different, so they run as their own program.
| Dimension | Traditional SEO | GEO and AEO |
|---|---|---|
| Goal | Rank a page in the results | Be the source the answer is built from, and the business it names |
| Unit of work | A page targeting a keyword | A passage answering a question, inside a page covering the topic |
| Query shape | Two or three typed words | A full sentence typed or spoken |
| What wins | Relevance, links, authority | The same, plus clarity, entity precision and outside corroboration |
| Structured data | Helpful for rich results | Load-bearing. It is how a model knows which business you are |
| Reviews | Influence local rank | Read as text. The words decide what you get recommended for |
| Reporting | Rankings and impressions | Leads first, then rankings, then mentions against a fixed prompt set |
04 The work
Our GEO and AEO program
Six parts run together: an AI answer audit, technical foundations, answer-first content, entity and structured data, off-site corroboration, and AI answer tracking. None of them works alone.
AI answer audit
We ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode, Perplexity and Copilot the questions your customers ask. Then we record who gets named, who gets named instead of you, and which sources each answer leans on.
Technical foundations
Crawl and index health, Core Web Vitals, internal linking, and killing the thin or duplicated pages that dilute a small site. None of the later work pays off while a model cannot read the site cleanly.
Answer-first content
Service and service-area pages rebuilt so the question is asked plainly and answered in the first two sentences, with the follow-up questions handled on the same page instead of scattered across six thin posts.
Entity and structured data
Hand-written JSON-LD, not a plugin default: LocalBusiness, Service and FAQPage where they belong, plus sameAs tying the site to every profile that represents you.
Off-site corroboration
Your details identical on Google, Bing, Apple Maps, Yelp and your trade’s own directories, plus real mentions: local press, partner pages and reviews that name the work.
AI answer tracking
The same 20 to 40 customer questions asked every week in the major AI tools, logged with who got named, in what order, and which sources were cited.
Where your business needs to show up
AI systems check whether anyone other than you agrees you exist. The first job is that your details are identical everywhere that matters, because a mismatch reads as two different businesses.
- Google Business Profile: categories, services, service areas, hours, photos, and a review process that keeps running
- Apple Business Connect and Bing Places, which most small businesses have never claimed
- The registry or association specific to your trade, which is usually higher quality than any general directory
- Real mentions: local press, supplier and partner pages, community sponsorships, customers writing about the work
- What we will not do is submit you to hundreds of low quality directories. Modern systems ignore those, and at worst they make you look manufactured
How we track AI answers
Keyword rankings cannot tell you whether an assistant recommends you. This can.
- A fixed set of twenty to forty real customer questions, frozen so the questions cannot be changed to flatter the result
- Asked every week in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews, and every month in Google’s AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot
- Every answer logged: each business named, in what order, which sources it cited, and whether what it says about you is right
- Run every week, so you see a trend instead of one lucky screenshot
- Referral traffic from AI platforms, reported separately from ordinary organic
- Branded and non-branded organic split apart, so nobody claims credit for your own word of mouth
- Google AI Overview appearance tracked next to your map pack positions
05 Evidence
What this has produced
One Texas dental practice went from 6 organic visits a day to 143, saw a single month of Google Ads go from $20k to $64k in attributed revenue, and had one $800 month of SEO produce a $9,000 emergency case.
Those are client-reported dashboard figures, and the full set with the year-over-year lead chart is on the homepage results card. Nine consecutive months of year-over-year lead growth, averaging 349%, with the best month at 700%.
For AI answers specifically: a Texas roofing company we work with went from no Google AI Overview appearances to 4 within a month, by Semrush’s count. The chart is on our roofing SEO page.
We publish the numbers we can attribute and we say which client they came from. Where there is no case study yet, this site says so rather than implying one.

06 Why us
Why Austin and Round Rock businesses pick us for AI search
Published prices, month to month, real numbers, and our own Central Texas search data.
- Published prices. AI search optimization is in the Lead plan, starting at $1,495 a month, and every plan is on our pricing page before you call.
- Month to month. No minimum term and no setup fee. You keep everything we build.
- One program for the map, search and AI answers. The same team runs your Google profile, your pages and your AI visibility, so the work does not cancel itself out.
- Numbers, not logos. Client results are published with their source on our results page.
- Local data. We ran 34 Google searches from 11 Central Texas towns and published what decides who shows up, in our Central Texas local search study.
- AI answers you can read yourself. The same questions every week, with who got named and the sources behind it.
07 How it runs
The first ninety days
Month one is diagnosis, because the question that sets the price is why you are not showing up now. There is no lock-in and no proposal deck.
-
Baseline, week one
Search Console, Analytics, site speed, current link profile, Google Business Profile. Then the prompt set is run cold to record who gets named today, who gets named instead of you, and which sources those answers lean on.
-
Unblock retrieval, weeks two to four
Crawl and index problems, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and the thin pages that are diluting the site. This is the part that tends to move fastest and it is deliberately done first.
-
Rebuild the money pages, month two
The pages that answer buying questions get restructured answer-first and extended to cover the follow-up questions, so a fan-out lands somewhere useful more than once.
-
Build corroboration, month two onward
Profiles aligned, mentions earned, review process live. This is the slowest workstream and the one that moves recommendation rather than ranking, so it starts early and never really stops.
-
Report, every month
Leads and calls first. Then rankings and map positions. Then how often the frozen prompt set names you compared with last month, and who it names instead.
08 Fit
Who this is and is not for
It suits local service businesses where one job is worth hundreds or thousands of dollars and customers search with urgency. It is a poor fit for businesses with no website worth ranking and no budget to fix one.
Dental practices and construction or restoration firms are where our own case data comes from. The same playbook applies to roofing, HVAC, plumbing and electrical work, and we will say plainly that we have not published a case study in those trades yet.
If you serve one small town, your profile is already strong and your phone already rings, you may not need most of this. That conversation happens before a quote, not after a contract.
09 Money
What AI SEO, GEO and AEO cost
AI search optimization (GEO and AEO) on its own starts at $999 a month. It is also included in the Lead plan, starting at $1,495 a month, and our smaller SEO plans cover the foundations AI tools rely on. Plans run $395 to $1,495 a month, with custom pricing for Dominate. Month to month, no contract, no setup fee.
The AI visibility audit still comes first, because it decides which plan fits and what gets done first: how many services and locations you need to show up for, the state of the current site, and how competitive the market is. It is free, and it reports who the assistants recommend in your place today.
The work is month to month, cancel any time. If paid search will bring you leads sooner than organic, we say so before you sign anything.
10 Common questions
AI SEO, GEO and AEO questions, answered properly
What is AI SEO?
AI SEO is the practice of making a business easy for AI systems to find, understand and repeat, so that assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews name it when a customer asks for a recommendation. GEO and AEO are the two halves of it.
It includes everything traditional SEO covers, plus passage-level structure, entity clarity through structured data, and corroboration from sources other than your own website.
What is GEO (generative engine optimization)?
GEO is the work of getting your business quoted and recommended by engines that write an answer instead of listing links, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews.
It covers what those engines read: your pages, your Google profile, your reviews and what other sites say about you.
What is AEO (answer engine optimization)?
AEO is the work of being the direct answer to a question, whether that answer comes from an AI assistant, a voice assistant or a featured snippet at the top of Google.
It overlaps heavily with GEO, so we run both in one program.
Is AI SEO different from regular SEO?
It builds on SEO, but it is its own discipline. Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode retrieve through core Search, so crawlability, quality and useful content still decide whether you are eligible.
On top of that, GEO and AEO need their own research, a different page format, off-site corroboration and their own tracking. That is why we run them as a dedicated program.
What is the difference between AI SEO, GEO, AEO and LLM SEO?
AI SEO is the umbrella. Generative engine optimization is the subset aimed at engines that write an answer. Answer engine optimization is near enough the same work framed around direct question answering. LLM SEO is the same field named after the technology.
Our GEO vs AEO vs SEO guide compares them side by side. We run all of them as one program, so you never pay three retainers for overlapping work.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business?
No, and nobody can. Assistants give different answers to the same question over time, and no agency controls their output.
What is controllable is whether you are findable, understandable and corroborated, and whether your mentions against a frozen prompt set rise over months. That is what gets reported.
If you want to start on your own, our guide covers how to get ChatGPT to recommend your business, with a free test you can run today.
How long does AI SEO take to work?
Technical fixes and Google Business Profile work can move within weeks. Content authority and AI recommendation are slower and less predictable, usually months.
Anyone quoting a fixed timeline before opening your Search Console is guessing.
How do you track whether ChatGPT and Google’s AI recommend us?
We ask the same twenty to forty real customer questions every week in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews, and every month in Google’s AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot. We log every business each answer names, in what order, and which sources it cites.
Alongside that we report leads and calls first, then rankings and map positions, referral traffic from AI platforms, and branded organic split from non-branded, so nobody takes credit for your own word of mouth.
Does structured data actually matter for AI search?
It matters for identity more than for ranking. Structured data is how a model establishes that the business on this page is the same business as the Google Business Profile, the LinkedIn page and the directory entry.
Get that wrong and you are competing with your own duplicates. A plugin default is usually not enough, because the field that does most of this work, sameAs, is the one plugins leave empty.
Do I need AI SEO if I already rank well on Google?
Often that is the reason to start. Ranking first and still losing the click is exactly the problem this addresses, because the generated answer above the links already gave the customer two or three names.
If yours was not among them, your position in the list mattered less than it used to.
What does AI SEO cost for a small business?
AI search optimization on its own starts at $999 a month. Our SEO plans run $395 to $1,495 a month, with custom pricing for Dominate, month to month with no setup fee, and AI search is included from the Lead plan, starting at $1,495 a month; the smaller plans cover the foundations AI tools rely on. A baseline audit of Search Console, Analytics, site speed and your current profile tells us which plan fits.
Who does the work?
A team of specialists in SEO and AI search, content, web development and ads, with one main contact for your account.
The domain is registered in your name, and the Google Business Profile, Analytics and Search Console are your accounts with us added as a manager. The content we write is yours to keep, and leaving costs nothing.
Do you work with businesses in Austin and Round Rock?
Yes. We are based in Round Rock and work with businesses across Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Brushy Creek, Bee Cave and the rest of Central Texas, and with businesses across the U.S. remotely.
AI answers about local businesses lean on local signals, like your Google profile, your reviews and local mentions, so knowing this market helps.
We also have pages on AI search in the big Texas metros: AI SEO services in Austin, AI search optimization in Houston, AEO and GEO in San Antonio and AI SEO in Dallas–Fort Worth.
Is SEO still worth it in 2026?
Yes, and the reason has changed. Search still sends the highest-intent traffic a local business gets, but the work now feeds two places at once: the results page, and the AI answers that increasingly sit above it.
What has stopped working is thin content produced at volume. What works is what always worked, done properly: pages that answer a real question, a business that is verifiably real, and a site fast enough to read on a phone.
Is SEO dead now with AI?
No, but the shape of it moved. AI assistants do not invent recommendations. They weigh what already exists about you across the internet and summarise it, and that is the same raw material SEO has always worked on: your site, your profile, your reviews, and mentions on pages you do not own.
What is genuinely dying is ranking for its own sake. A position nobody clicks because an AI answered above it was never worth much. Being the business the AI names is the job now.
Can ChatGPT do SEO?
It does parts of it well: drafting, outlining, spotting what a page fails to answer, summarising a competitor. It cannot tell you why your traffic fell last month, because it cannot see your Search Console, your server logs or your Google Business Profile.
Used to produce volume it actively hurts you, because a page that reads like every other page has nothing to rank for. Used as a drafting tool over facts only you know, it is genuinely useful. That is roughly how we use it.
Which SEO tool is best for beginners?
Google Search Console, and it is free. It is the only tool that shows what your site actually did in Google rather than an estimate of it: which searches you appeared for, where you ranked, what people clicked. Pair it with the Google Business Profile dashboard for the map side.
Paid tools earn their keep when you need competitor data or you are tracking a lot of pages. For a single local business, Search Console and your own phone log answer most of the questions.

We were paying for Google Ads, had someone doing SEO before, and our website looked decent, but the leads were inconsistent and nobody could really explain why. Visible Owl went through everything instead of treating each thing separately. Website, tracking, Google Ads, local SEO, Google Business Profile, landing pages, all of it.”
